Code Enforcement Department

 

The Town of Bedford is seeking a full-time (35 hrs/wk) Department Assistant to work in the Code Enforcement Department.  Primary duties include, but are not limited to: Working closely with the Conservation Administrator, processing wetlands applications and permits, assisting applicants with permit preparation related to wetland regulatory issues, file management, accounts management, preparing for and attending a minimum of two Conservation Commission night meetings per month as well as recording of minutes.  Position would also require working with Code Enforcement Admin. Assistant to assist in daily operations of a customer service oriented department.

 

Candidate must possess a high school diploma, excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, and extensive knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.  Ability to multi-task, excellent customer service and organizational skills, as well as a high attention to detail are essential.  Speedwriting or stenography skills are helpful.  Experience in a municipal setting is desirable.

 

 

Starting salary range is $15.83 to $17.80/hour, depending upon experience.  The Town of Bedford offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
